The Solar Traffic Light System is designed to improve pedestrian safety by controlling vehicle traffic approaching the pedestrian crossing and advising pedestrians when it is safe to cross. The system is similar in operation to a standard pedestrian crossing/traffic light system without wiring between systems or the requirement to trench to run power. The entire system is powered by a high quality solar powerbank mounted atop the same post as the signals and activation button/PIR. The two mounting posts, push buttons/PIR, solar powerbanks, signals and optional road studs are independent standalone systems. The connection between both sides of the crossing is wireless. Push button or touchless activation on either side of the crossing begins the system's programmed operation. After activation the traffic light change from green to amber to red. The pedestrian symbol changes from a red standing symbol, to a green and walking symbol advising the pedestrian to cross. The timing between all proce steps is programable to allow customisation to your site.
